How to Join Koinonia:
How to Do Things and Change the World with Koinonia:
(hint: just show up on an activity group or task team, or start one of your own.....)
How to Become Who You Are, Be Enough and Grow:
(hint: just find a book, study/read it with others, and act on it.....)
Our community is an accepting place that offers all persons opportunities to ask and discuss questions in the process of seeking spiritual growth. We have no doctrine or dogma that we think you should believe. We are seekers open to learning from the natural world, science, world faiths, yours and our inner experiences and all wisdom traditions. We believe in growth and the journey.
We value different perspectives and ideas because we learn from them.
We want to be different, more deeply spiritual people in the future and welcome anyone at any place in their spiritual journey. We grow friendships, share experiences, support each other in good and bad times, and work together for social justice. We value each individual and foster individual growth. We grow stronger, wiser, and better with each person who joins us.
One of our
most cherished values is what we call radical inclusion.
This means that
we welcome and affirm people of every cultural and religious
background, sexual orientation, family composition, level of physical
and mental ability, level of economic means, race, age and gender.
Koinonia is a member of, or is officially aligned with:
- Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists (AWAB)
- Brethren/Mennonite Council for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Interests (BMC)
We have open opportunities for everyone !! If we don't have an opportunity that fits you, we invite you to make your own. We are an evolving community and open to new projects and ways of doing things. Come join Koinonia and find a place to fill your calling by joining or starting a study group, task team, meditation group, service project, or take a leadership role.
There's a partial listing of current task teams on the What We Do page, and more details on social help teams and projects on the Social Justice page.
Take a look, see where you might fit in or something you want to try, and feel free to think openly, "out-of-the-box", and about things and projects or ideas that may not seem possible. At Koinonia, almost anything is possible.
